Bina Marga to Revitalize Sidewalk on Jalan HR Rasuna Said

The Jakarta Bina Marga Agency is about to widen the sidewalk along Jalan HR Rasuna Said, South Jakarta from two meters wide to five meters.

It aims to create a sense of comfort for pedestrians and prompt private vehicle users to switch to public transportation.

Bina Marga Agency Head, Hari Nugroho disclosed the sidewalk on Jalan HR Rasuna Said would be widened like the area of MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta.

"Jalan HR Rasuna Said will be made like Thamrin. But there is still iron left by the monorail. I want the monorail pole removed," he expressed, Tuesday (10/4).

He explained that his staff had communicated about the plan with Adhi Karya as the BUMN owner of the monorail pole on Jalan HR Rasuna Said.

"We're about to start negotiation this year. Hopefully, if it's done, next year is planning in turn," he uttered.

If the revitalization went well, it would be continued to Jalan HR Rasuna Said to Jalan MT Haryono and Jenderal Gatot Subroto.

"So, the main access roads will be developed to make Jakarta a pedestrian-friendly Global City," he stated.
